Councilmember
District 1-Central
Terms: 2009-2011
Business Owner

Sam Mezayek joined the Tyler City Council in May 2009 and is excited about serving the residents of District 1. Sam wants to continue the City's pledge to direct revenues from the Half-Cent Sales Tax towards cash payment for improvements and no general obligation bond issues. He plans to use his business experience to make sure the City continues to operate like a business and ensure that the City is fiscally conservative, especially during this economic time. Additionally, he wants to work to create solutions to improve traffic congestion in South Tyler and ensure that streets and drainage are improved and maintained.
