City recognized for excellence in communications

The City of Tyler Goodman-LeGrand Video Home Tour received a TAMI Award for Best Special or One-Time Program from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) on Friday.

 

The 30-minute video tour of the Goodman-LeGrand Museum which was produced to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Museum and is available for purchase at the museum. The tour offers viewers an in-depth look at the Goodman Museum and many of the artifacts housed there.

 

The newly designed Rose Garden Brochure also was recognized as a finalist in the special publication category. The new brochure provides the garden’s history, highlights and a map of the gardens.  The City of Tyler Communications Department worked closely with the garden staff and Master Gardener volunteers to capture the history and unique features of this garden.

 

The purpose of the TAMI Awards is to recognize cities for their achievements in communication with citizens. Over one hundred entries were received for the TAMI Awards this year. The cities of Austin and Ft. Worth were finalists in the Special or One-Time Program Category, while Grand Prairie and Ft. Worth were finalists in the Special Publication Category.

 

TAMIO is an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League, which represents some 98 percent of Texas’ urban population through its more than 1,000 member cities and towns.
