In a fast-paced world, it’s hard to find time to slow down and enjoy family. To help bring fathers and sons together, the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department has planned a morning of fun and lasting memories for fathers and sons to share. The Father and Son Fishing Derby is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Glass Recreation Center, located at 501 W. 32nd St.
The derby is open to boys ages 5-15 and their fathers, grandfather or uncles. Participants will fish from 9:45 a.m. to noon. Prizes will be awarded for first catfish caught, first bass caught and the largest (by weight) single fish.
Pre-registration is not required, but is encouraged for this event. Anglers need to bring their own pole and bait.
