Keep Tyler Beautiful To present "Beauty and Business Award" to Edward Jones

by Kristi Boyett - June 29, 2009

Taking another step to grow community pride in Tyler, Keep Tyler Beautiful is recognizing businesses in the community for their improvement, upkeep, cleanliness and beautification efforts. The Board will present the 115th “Beauty and Business Award” to Edward Jones at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1 at 1377 Dominion Plaza in Tyler.

“Edward Jones was chosen for the Beauty and Business Award because they exemplify the standards that KTyB looks for when giving this award.  The building is attractive while the grounds are maintained and always look great,” said Eloise Muxworthy, Keep Tyler Beautiful chair. “Congratulations to Edward Jones for doing their part in making Tyler a beautiful place to live and work.”

Every Beauty and Business Award winner receives a framed certificate and personalized yard sign. Through this program, the Keep Tyler Beautiful Board strives to encourage other businesses to take responsibility for improving their community environment.

Businesses are chosen for meeting the following criteria.

·        Store front is inviting with use and upkeep of greenery, such as grass, trees, shrubs and/or flowers along with benches, trash cans and/or chairs.
·        Parking area is litter free.
·        Store front has attractive signs.
·        Dumpster and trash areas are clean and tidy.
·        Old, unused bulky items are not stored around or behind the store (i.e. equipment, furniture, supplies.)
·        Building front is in good shape with clean paint or bricks.
