The City of Tyler Solid Waste Department offers subscription-based curbside recycling to residential customers. Residents can sign up for this optional program and receive two curbside recycling pickups per month for $2.50 plus tax per month. A recycling cart is included in the subscription price. Materials DO NOT have to be sorted.
Recycling is picked up twice a month on Wednesdays, depending on your location.
Those living west of Broadway have their recyclables picked up on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month.
Those living East of Broadway have their recyclables picked up on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.

#1 PETE plastic---rinsed (such as soda and water bottles)

#2 HDPE plastic ALL COLORS---rinsed (such as milk jugs, detergent bottles)
- Newspapers

Ads/ Junk mail

Magazines
-
Mixed office paper (no shredded paper please)

Cardboard (any type)
Items NOT accepted and why:
Glass--it breaks inside the truck's compactor and becomes a hazard to workers
Plastics #3, #4, #5, #6, #7--the material recovery facility does not accept these types
Plastic grocery bags--please recycle them at Wal-Mart or Brookshire's
