Organizational Development serves as a strategic partner that continually strives to facilitate and enhance safety, organizational effectiveness, culture, learning and development, and employee engagement at the City of Tyler. All employee matters are handled with a called to serve attitude and a focus on equipping employees to identify and meet their career objectives while also helping departments achieve ideal outcomes. We deliver diverse programs and services to City leaders and employees, including a variety of OD interventions such as customizable trainings, consultation and collaboration, facilitation services, career coaching, conflict resolution, problem solving, process improvement, and mentoring.  OD promotes continual learning through a broad array of learning and development opportunities, including a dynamic Leadership Academy Program.

WHO WE ARE

The Organizational Development Department (OD) has five primary functions: organizational effectiveness; Team Resources - human resources development; Risk Management- safety, loss mitigation, and claims management; Volunteer Tyler - community involvement and volunteer services; and City University - training, learning and development.

To improve organizational effectiveness, functionality, collaboration, and culture by providing outstanding professionalism and internal services in the following areas: benefits and total rewards; risk management; employee relations; internal consulting and training; volunteer services; and centralized employee learning and development.
