Bulky Items

Starting March 4, 2024 each residential household that receives curbside collection services can request two bulky waste pick-ups each calendar year at no charge. Pick-ups will occur within five business days after a request is made to Tyler Solid Waste.

Residents may request more than two bulky item collections within a calendar year, but the additional collections will be handled as a special collection request where a fee is charged based on the size and quantity of the items.

Please note that due to the new method of bulky item pick-ups, delays may happen in some cases. However, Tyler Solid Waste will work to pick up your bulk waste as soon as possible.

Bulky item pick-up is limited to 6 to 8 cubic yards. There is an extra charge for larger piles. (For a visual representation, please scroll down to the FAQ section of this page.)

Bulk brush and tires are not included in the free bulky item pick-up these items require a special collection. (For more details please scroll down to the FAQ section of this page.)

Discarded Property

Any property put out at the curb line, such as furniture, clothing, and appliances, requires notification to the Solid Waste Office as per City Ordinance Sec. 16-4. Residential Collection. If Solid Waste does not receive notification of the items at the curb, a written warning shall be given by tagging the property with a door hanger at the residence. If the property is out more than two days and the owner has yet to make any contact with the Solid Waste Office, a special pick-up will be made, and an automatic charge, per the fee schedule, shall be made. If property is left out and the owner cannot be determined, Code Enforcement will be contacted to handle the discarded property.
