recyclingRead about the Keep Tyler Beautiful commitment to the City of Tyler and about various projects, facts and how you can help Keep Tyler Beautiful.

The City of Tyler Solid Waste Department offers a free self service drop off center that is open six days a week.

If an item is brought in that requires a fee, please be aware that the Recycle Center can only accept cash, check or money order, no credit or debit cards. We do not accept bills larger $20.00.

The downtown Recycling Center is available to anyone in the East Texas Region.

The Recycle Center also accepts vehicles. (A title is required to show proof of ownership.)

The Recycle Center is closed most holidays.

We would always like to hear from our customers, please contact us.

  • A compact fluorescent light bulb uses 75 per cent less energy than a traditional bulb and lasts up to 4 years!
  • Americans throw away enough aluminum in three months to rebuild all of our commercial airplanes.
  • Recycling one ton of paper saves one acre of trees.
  • The energy saved from recycling one glass bottle will light a 100-watt bulb for four hours.

If you know of a school group or civic group that would like a tour of our Recycling Center or a presentation on how we recycle in Tyler, please email Keep Tyler Beautiful at ktyb@tylertexas.com.
