Tyler Transit will host an open meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Tyler Development Center, 423 W. Ferguson St., to discuss Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals for the fiscal years 2025 to 2027. The meeting will notify the public of proposed goals for projects funded through the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) DBE program ensures nondiscrimination in the award and administration of DOT-assisted contracts in the Department’s highway, transit, and airport financial assistance programs and seeks to create a level playing field on which DBEs can compete fairly for DOT-assisted contracts. FTA’s Office of Civil Rights is responsible for monitoring FTA recipients' and transit vehicle manufacturers' DBE programs and ensuring their compliance with DOT's DBE regulations.
The proposed goals and goal-setting methodology are available for review until Monday, Sept. 23, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Tyler Transit, 210 E. Oakwood St. The public comment period will end Sept. 24 at 1 p.m.
Transit staff will be at the meeting to answer questions and provide information regarding the proposed changes. Questions and comments can be submitted through the Contact Us page under the About section on the Transit website or by letter to:
