Recycling Center Tours

Want to learn more about how our Downtown Recycling Center works? Schedule a tour today! Tours typically start between 9-10 a.m. and last about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the group. We recommend visitors to save their recycling to bring to the center to sort as part of the tour.

Recycling Center tours are available to groups up to 75 at a time. The tour will consist of a quick presentation on the importance of recycling followed by a tour through the facility, showing where items go from start to finish and explaining the items accepted by the Tyler Recycling Center. At the end of the tour visitors may sort any recyclable items they bring.

Visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the tour with a suggested ratio of 1:10. The recycling center does not have heating or cooling. Please make sure to dress accordingly and closed toed shoes are recommended. A restroom is located on-site, but please bring your own water if you require it. The tour is handicap accessible; no seating is available during the tour. If you will need any accommodations, please let us know.

For more information, please contact us or book your tour today!

Tyler Grow Green

The Grow Green Program encourages local gardeners and property owners to educate themselves about the chemicals they are using to maintain their landscapes by providing education and resources about native planting and integrated pest management. These plans are also implemented city-wide by the Parks and Recreation Department who maintain all 28 city Parks, along with the trails and Tyler Municipal Rose Garden.
