Great Tyler Cleanup 2024
The annual Great Tyler Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2024. Volunteers are invited to show pride in their city by coming together for this community-wide cleanup. For more information, you can call (903) 531-1335 or email Keep Tyler Beautiful at KTyB@tylertexas.com.
This event is part of the Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off and the Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup, this is a nation-wide event occurring in April.
Event Information
The Great Tyler Cleanup will be hosted from Southside Park and volunteers are encouraged to meet at the tent for registration. Sign up will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the cleanup will begin at 9 a.m.
While the event will be hosted from Southside Park, Keep Tyler Beautiful is encouraging volunteers to come grab the supplies they will need from us and pick a different spot to cleanup within the city. There are plenty of other locations that could use a little attention, including local parks and streets. For those who do not have another spot in mind, they are more than welcome to stay at Southside Park and clean up the creek and trails.
Volunteers are encouraged to pre-register online once registration opens. Pre-registered volunteers will receive a t-shirt, goody bag and all the appropriate items needed for the cleanup. Keep Tyler Beautiful will be giving away door prizes that have been donated by local businesses and serve lunch and drinks. Lunch will be given out between 11:30 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. for those who participated in the cleanup.
Great Tyler Cleanup 2023
Keep Tyler Beautiful hosted the Great Tyler Cleanup on Saturday, April 2 at Southside Park and various other locations around Tyler. This annual litter pickup event is hosted in conjunction with Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup and the Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-off.
We had 517 volunteers come out to 16 different locations on Saturday and they collected more than 2,700 pounds of litter! In 2020, the event had to be cancelled due to COVID concerns and in 2021, we only had 237 volunteers pickup 2,200 pounds of trash. KTyB is so grateful to everyone who came out and donated their time and energy for a total of more than 1600 hours of service!
