Winter Reading Challenge

Ring in the new year by taking on Tyler Public Library’s Winter Reading Challenge. Log your reading and win rewards! The Library’s Winter Reading Challenge will kick off Monday, Dec. 14 and end Friday, Jan. 15.

Winter Reading Challenge Kickoff

Dec. 14 | 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. & 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.: Sign up for the challenge and join Library staff for kickoff activities, including collecting a chocolate treasure coin, playing Dragon I-Spy, picking up a take-home Pipe Cleaner Ice Dragon Craft Kit, taking a picture in the photobooth with Ember the Ice Dragon, and picking up a Mouse House Craft Kit or Crazy Cocoa Kit! 

Challenge and Rewards:

Children, tweens, and teens age 0 to Grade 12 are challenged to read 6 hours. Those who complete the challenge can choose a free book to keep from a selection provided by The Friends of the Tyler Public Library. They will also have their name entered into a raffle to win a coupon for the Library’s 3D printer valued at $3, $5, or $10.

Adults age 18 and older are challenged to read 3 books. Those who complete the challenge will receive a free book coupon to use in the Library’s Book Nook. They will also have have their name entered into a raffle to win a coupon for the Library’s 3D printer valued at $3, $5, or $10.

Signing Up and Logging Time Read:

Sign up for the Winter Reading Challenge by visiting www.tpl.beanstack.org or click on the Beanstack reading log link at www.TylerLibrary.com. Patrons may register as an individual, family, class, or group. Hours or books read may be logged beginning Dec. 14.

About Adult Programs

Adult programs are organized by the Library's Reference Department. All events listed are either hosted or cosponsored by the Library. Questions about Adult Programs can be sent to the Information Desk by submitting the Ask a Librarian form.

The Library is open to suggestions for Library programs and events. Submit idea suggestions using the Make a Comment or Suggestion form.

Outside Organizations

Outside organizations can request the use of Library meeting spaces using the Auditorium Use Request form or request to have a booth in the Library Lobby using the Lobby Booth Reservation form. Events hosted by outside organizations are not listed on the Library's calendar of events.
