Placing a Hold

If an item you want is already checked out, you can place a hold for it and we'll save it for you when it comes in! Once a hold becomes available, we'll contact you and hold it here at the library for pickup for five days.

You can place an item on hold over the phone by calling us at (903)593-7323, or you can place an item on hold yourself through our online catalog. When you find an item in which you're interested, open its record and click on the Place Hold link. You will be prompted for your User ID and PIN. Your User ID is the 14-digit number found on the back of your library card. The PIN is the text string changeme, which is assigned when you receive your library card (unless you have already logged in and changed your PIN).

Should you have any difficulty placing an item on hold, please call us at (903)593-7323 or use our Ask a Librarian form and we will be happy to assist you.

Picking Up a Hold

Once you have been informed that your hold is available, you can pick it up within five days. Holds are available for patrons to pick up between the two self-checkout machines across from the desks.

If you need assistance with your holds, please ask staff at one of the desks.
