The staff of the Tyler Public Library are organized in various divisions dedicated to providing library and information service to the community.

City Librarian | Ashley Taylor

The City Librarian oversees all Library activities, functions, and staff. They are responsible for ensuring that the public's Library needs are met.

Circulation Supervisor | Brenda Choy

This division is responsible for checking books, DVDs and other materials out to our customers, renewing them upon request, and checking them in again when they are returned. They issue library cards to new patrons and renew those that have expired. They replace items on the shelves when they have been returned and keep the shelves in order. Circulation Services is also responsible for assigning computers to Internet users.

Library Operations Specialist | Ami Fortriede

This division is responsible for maintaining the building and staff, including ordering basic supplies, maintaining staff records, custodial services, and any and all repairs that are needed. They ensure that the building is kept up to code and maintain the Library's budget -- including making supplemental requests for services and fixtures for staff and patrons.

Reference Librarian | Rozanna Bennett

This division encompasses reference and reader's advisory services, interlibrary loan, adult programming, and local history and genealogy. They provide answers and information on a wide variety of subjects, help trace your family history, borrow books from other libraries, and are responsible for assisting customers in finding their next good book to read. The information desk can also demonstrate the use of our electronic resources, getting you started with eBooks and eAudio, language learning, streaming video, and the many databases we have available for your use. The Reference Department also develops programming for our adult patrons.

Resource Services Librarian | Brent McClendon

This division is responsible for selecting and purchasing items for the library and making them ready to go on the shelves. They create entries in our online catalog for each item and assign a call number so you can find it on the shelves. Resource Services makes it possible to find items in the library!

Youth Services Librarian | Amy Skipper

This division is responsible for all services to our younger customers. They choose materials and provide programming for children and teens. Youth services promotes early literacy initiatives and partners with others in the community to reach those children who cannot make it to the library.
